#NYFW Rebel Saturday — Day 3

It has been a memorable day for New York Fashion Week history. During Prabal Gurung’s presentation a streaker wearing a gold crown, a leopard thong and red tube socks disrupted the catwalk. He tried really hard to be apart of the show whilst dodging security at the same time. The models continued on the runway, unfazed. One model in particular caught my eye and that was Joan Smalls. She looked remarkable and ended the show like a boss! It’s hard to say if I enjoyed the collection, it was very Prabal — his aesthetic was expected.

Hervé Léger by Max Azria was exceptionally well put together. There weren’t too many of the signature sexy silhouettes that I love but the use of utility was well played. I adore the knee-high peep toe boots. I wouldn’t dare wearing them in this frigid weather but I’m sure there’s a bold NYC gal somewhere that would take the risk.

Alexander Wang takes the crown, not only did he not showcase his collection at Lincoln Center, he avoided Manhattan completely and took his talents to Brooklyn. What ever you do, take twelve minutes of your time to watch the video below. This show inspired me to another level, it was electrifying and vibrant with a lot of color. The open back boots and multi-bags stole my heart immediately. Outerwear was the real prize as he showed so many variations from puffers to windbreakers. I suggest everyone pay attention to the finale, technology played a role and played it well. The heat-activated leather changes color on the fashion merry-go-round. Well done Wang. Enjoy
